On Friday, Josh and I had the day off, so we decided to head up to Lost River and make our way through the caves and trails. It was definitely worth the two hour drive north. I drove since he's been carting me around a lot lately, and it was a lot of driving to do, but it was fun. So we made it to the caves safe and sound, although making our way through them was a different story. Josh was a "gentlemen" and allowed me, the lady, to go through the caves first. Basically, he watched me bend in ways I was not meant to bend in order to squeeze through passages not meant to be passed through. And let me tell you, the incessant tickling did not help me to get through those caves. Finally, we made our way out and finished hiking the trail, but not without serious damage to Josh's watch. He managed to crack the glass watch cover and a few of the shards fell into the watch, causing the second hand to catch, effectively stopping the watch. But I think he'll manage. After the caves, we headed an hour and a half south to Cracker Barrel, where I witnessed Josh's first meal at any Cracker Barrel restaurant. I love their food and their stores, and I think it's safe to say he does now, too. After that, we headed to the mall for some random shopping. After a minor skirmish between the sexes, we headed home and I thought too much, getting angry at myself for falling too hard and fast for a certain someone. Then, after going 70 on roads with a 45 mph speed limit and getting some air over a small dip in the road, I pulled over and told Josh to drive before I got us both killed. If you're reading this Josh, thanks for letting me cry on your shoulder. In the end, the day ended well, and I'm glad things went the way they did.
Saturday was a long day filled with four softball games (way too many in one day if you ask me); boating and swimming with Josh and his brother, Joe; making pizzas; renting and retrieving movies; pole-dancing with too many clothes on; and staying up late watching said movies. And Sunday consisted of Josh and I being glorified baby-sitters for 14 four and five year old kids during Jr. Church at church. And I have to say that I saw the cutest thing during that 45 minutes of loud, screaming kids. One kid randomly started crying and screaming, so I asked Josh if he could handle the kids while I took the screamer into the hall to calm him down. When I returned to the class with the finally calmed child, Josh had managed to get the whole class under control and he was even holding one of the kids. Hey, what can I say... Some people have it, some people don't. And he definitely has it. Sunday ended on a good note with a hot date at the movies. Helen and I went to see Must Love Dogs and catch up on things. It was an awesome movie, only to be exceeded in awesomeness by the company.
The weekened was definitely long, but definitely fun.
